Coyote Kill
Hare scramble race 5 report page

I get my first hole-shot start in 15 races!
I will post the rest of the pictures with a report and more video later.
Race report
We left Fort Lauderdale Saturday morning for the 5hr drive to the track located in Brooksville just north of Tampa, FL
As we pulled in to the track 5hs later the weather started to change for the worse, Around 7pm the heavens opened up, the temperature dropped and we had high winds and torrential rain.
Sunday morning the course workers were making changes to the track and practice was moved forward one hour.
Ready for practice
I took my practice lap real easy and considering the mud got round with no problems, I even took the hard routes and they were not that bad
The course workers had laid out a superb course, it was hilly, muddy, fast, tight, and very technical in places, this track had it all and I loved it.
The Race
I left my practice gear on as it was near freezing around at 35 degrees which is pretty freaking cold for Florida.
After the mistake I made at the last race I decided this was going to be my turn to take the hole-shot.
I lined the bike up made sure it was in gear, my start box and kick start tape were in place and I meant business.
As the horn blew I ran to my bike kicked it into life and took the first hole-shot ever in my short 15 hare scramble race career!
It was a great feeling being out front, I rode smart and didn`t take any chances, it was still very muddy and slippery but the track was drying out fast.
As I was about half way round James Clingan on his CRF450 blasted past me on one of the many straight-aways, I stayed as close to him as I could but he was really hauling on the straights.
As I finished my first lap I made a mistake just after the scoring area and went off the side of the track and got stuck in some tall bushes, I got free and joined the race but my goggles had huge scratches across them and I didn`t have any tear0offs left.
Michael Sizemore past me putting me back to 3rd,as I ran my fourth lap James Clingon 25B was just in front of me, I past him putting me back up to 2nd.
On the last lap I clipped a wooden post and at first I thought my collar bone was broken, jeez that " #*@^!" hurt, I continued on and finished in 2nd place.
Arm still attached to shoulder...check.
The results
I have uploaded the Helmet cam video of the start and some footage from the race showing some of the track
